CHAPTER TEN

The strain of living in a man’s body was getting to Neesha. Really getting to her.

Running to shave every morning before she went out the door, who needed that? But, annoying though it was, that was the least of her problems. What was really getting to her was the strain of playing the role of a man - firm, no-nonsense, even distant - when what she wanted to do was be herself, more of a problem solver and mentor to her team. But if she ever fell into her default mode she knew it would be trouble. Dean’s staff would never see him the same way again.

And that was only one side of the dilemma. What was just as distressing, if not more so, was the fact that she could no longer be a woman, not for the man who used to make her blood boil but who now made her heart race just at the thought of him…even while she was here, occupying his damn body.

Which brought her thoughts to the greatest dilemma of all - would they ever get their bodies back? Were they ever going to hear from that witch again?

The electric shaver still in her hand, she froze as she stared at her reflection in the mirror, a wave of depression washing over her. To be stuck in a man’s body for the rest of her life? It didn’t bear thinking about.

Too depressed to bother with what she’d been about to do, shaving the stubborn stubble from that square face that had been hers for almost two weeks, Neesha lowered the device to the counter. She was drawing in a breath, ready to heave a desolate sigh, when the sound of the front doorbell jerked her out of her reverie.

She frowned. Who in the world could that be? It was Sunday and she wasn’t expecting anyone. She certainly hadn’t invited anyone over, not in the manly state she was in. In fact, ever since she’d been thrown into the twilight zone, she’d been avoiding the rest of the world like the plague. The last thing she needed right then was company.

But the doorbell was ringing again. And again. What the heck? Her frown deepening, she headed toward the stairs. “I’m coming,” she yelled and then, catching herself, she shut up. If the person at the door was someone she knew they’d be expecting a female voice yelling at them, not the bellow that had just left her lips. She grimaced. Too late.

She took the stairs two steps at a time because whoever it was, was ringing the doorbell again. Dammit.

By the time she got to the door she was properly pissed. Totally annoyed, she swung it open, her glare fiery enough to scorch anyone standing on her porch. “What is it…” The words froze on her tongue, her voice trailing off at the sight of the man standing at her front door, shock making her jaw drop.

She sucked in her breath. “Mike!” The word came out a cross between a screech and a bellow.
